Jean E. Ankrum

NEWARK: A graveside and committal service for Jean E. Ankrum will be held 12:30 P.M. Monday, April 8, 2013 at Wilson Cemetery, Newark with Chaplain Mark Pierce presiding.

Mrs. Ankrum, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Inn At Sharonbrooke. She was born December 30, 1925 in Newark, Ohio to parents Charles and Calla (Markham) Drumm. She graduated from Newark High School and became a homemaker and a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed golf, sewing, knitting and making cross-stitch sampler pictures. In her later years, cross word puzzles, word find, reading and spending time with her family filled her days.

Jean is survived by her loving daughter Jackie Whittington of Newark and son Chuck Ankrum of Newark; the grandchildren she adored Joshua Whittington, Mikilia Ankrum, Jessica Murphy and Adam Ankrum along with eight great grandchildren; brother Fred Drumm of Alexandria, OH; sisters-in-law Mary Drumm of Newark and Neola Ankrum of Florida as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, husband Richard "Dick" Ankrum; sisters Jane Bachmann, June Snyder and brother Bill Drumm preceded Jean in death.

The family extends a grateful "Thank you" to the staff at the Inn At Sharonbrooke and suggests contributions, in Jean's name, made to Hospice of Central Ohio.
