HEATH: A funeral service for Jill E. Sturtz will be held at 10AM, Monday, April 29, 2013, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, Msgr. Paul Enke will officiate. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Friends and family may call from 2-5PM, Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.
Mrs. Sturtz was born December 11, 1959, in Barberton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Earl Thomas Fleming, Jr., and Peggy (Kanode) Fleming of Newark. Mrs. Sturtz, 53, of Heath, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic. She was a graduate of Granville High School and was involved as a majorette in high school and in the Licking County 4-H Band. While she attended Ashland College she was a majorette and a member of the Alpha Delta Phi sorority. For many years she was an educational aide in the Granville Exempted Village School District and had worked at Emde-Fleming & Miller. Mrs. Sturtz was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Granville.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband Thomas L. Sturtz, whom she married July 11, 1997; three children, Brooke Watts of Heath, Brett Watts of Pataskala, Jamie Sturtz of Heath; a sister Julie (Dan) Bush of Newark and two grandchildren, Carson Watts and Colton Watts and nieces, Megan Dye of Columbus, Courtney Dye of Newark and Hailey Bush.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation or St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
