Lloyd "Jack" "Whitey" Parmer

ALEXANDRIA: Funeral service for Lloyd "Jack" "Whitey" Parmer will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st Street, Newark, with Pastor Megan Croy presiding. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens with military honors rendered by Licking County Veterans Alliance. The family will receive friends and acquaintances Thursday beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Parmer, age 93 passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at his home. He was born February 25, 1920 in Ashley, Ohio the son of Royal and Estella (Denton) Parmer. He was a retired millwright having worked for the former Kress Box Company now Georgia Pacific. Jack served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Jack was best known for his love of drag racing and was the owner of "Whitey's Wedge." He also enjoyed watching golf. Together with his wife, Jackie were members of Alexandria United Methodist Church and enjoyed the company and activities of Alexandria Buckeyes.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Jackie (Rice) Parmer; children, Doug (Karen) Parmer of Baltimore, OH, Richard (Linda) Parmer of Croton, OH, Dennis (Timothy) Parmer of Long Beach, CA and Debi (Thomas) Lenzo of Newark; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; brother, Edward "Pete" Parmer of Anderson, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents sisters, Eileen Jenkins, Lucille Benedict and Donna Sites preceded Jack in death.

Memorial gifts, in Jack's name, may be given to Hospice of Central Ohio or Alexandria U.M. Church.
