Louis "Tootie" Hinton
NEWARK: A funeral service for Louis "Tootie" Hinton of Newark will be held Friday January 4, 2013 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Interment with military honors provided by the Licking County Veteran's Alliance will be at the Newark.
Louis was born in Newark on October 10, 1951 to the late Johnnie and Irene (Green) Hinton. He went home to the arms of Jesus on Saturday December 29, 2012 at his home. He was 61.
Louis was a member of the Newark HS Class of '69 where he played basketball, served his country serving in the US Air Force, worked at Owens Corning and at Tencate for 20 years. He operated his own barber shop, Skinny Lou's.
Louis is survived by his wife Kelly, whom he married in 1998; children Yolanda Brock, Tiffany Johnson, Ebony Hinton, Ike Hinton, and Teleesha Hinton; fifteen grandchildren that he loved to dance with, and two great-grandchildren. Sister Nell Randolph of Atlanta, Ga, brothers John L. Hinton of Columbus, and Johnnie Hinton of Newark, plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.
Louis was a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, loved to play cards, horseshoes, and dominoes with his friends and family, pitched for the Kiwanis baseball team, ride his Honda motorcycle, watch Western movies, and was an avid OSU football fan. He was a very humble, peaceful man who had a positive outlook on life, and was a peacemaker among his friends.
