Marjorie A. Armstrong

HEATH: A Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie A. Armstrong, 89, of Heath, will be held at St. Leonard Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 13, 2012, with Fr. Michael Reis officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Armstrong, a 1941 graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, died at Autumn Healthcare Center on December 10, 2012. She was born in Newark, Ohio on April 3, 1923 to the late James and Anne (Hohl) Driscoll.

Marjorie was a parishioner of St. Leonard Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and an avid volunteer in many aspects of the church, including the Bereavement Ministry and the St. Leonard Store. She was retired from the Newark City Health Department where she worked for 22 years as an executive assistant in Vital Statistics. She also worked weekends in the Admissions Department for Licking Memorial Hospital for 15 years. Marjorie enjoyed reading, playing euchre, completing crossword puzzles, and attending productions at Weathervane Playhouse.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey J. Armstrong of Newark; her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth and George Sissea of Newark, and Mary Deborah "Debbie" and Dave Read of Stil Well, Kansas; her four grandchildren, Chris, Laurie, Jessica, and Caleb; and her five great-grandchildren, Alex, Jacque, Trevon, Parker, and Marcus.

Friends and family may call from 4-6 P.M., Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, Ohio, where a Vigil Service will be held at 5:45 P.M.
