Mary Jean Slotterbeck
NEWARK: A memorial service for Mary Jean Slotterbeck, age 78 of Newark, will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st Street, Newark with Rev. Stan Tinon presiding. The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Per her request, her remains were given to The Ohio State University's body donation program.
Mrs. Slotterbeck passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2013 at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Central Ohio. She was born February 1, 1935 in Newark, Ohio the daughter of Virgil and Elizabeth (Wymola) Lattimer. She was a graduate of Glenford High School and Bliss Business College. She retired from the Licking County Heath Department in 1998 after 20 years of service as a clerk. She played the clarinet and piano and was a member of Musician's Local #122. It was through this group she met her husband, William. She was a former member of Family of Faith Community Church and Grace Fellowship Church. Jean enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved her grandchildren.
Mrs. Slotterbeck is survived by her sons Brent Lee (Eileen) Slotterbeck of Newark and Kevin Eugene (Elizabeth) Slotterbeck of Trout Lake, Washington; five granddaughters Rachel Swick, Rebekah Slotterbeck, Jessica Asher, Kayla Slotterbeck and Mikayla Phillips; one grandson Jordan Slotterbeck and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, husband William "Bill" Slotterbeck and great grandson Luke Swick preceded Jean in death.
