HEATH: A service celebrating the life of Michael Philip DiBlasio, age 82, of Heath, will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 15, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Minister Rube Gayheart officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will provide military honors.

Mike passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his home unexpectedly. He was born May 7, 1930 in Newark to the late Michele C. and Angela M. (Favo) DiBlasio.

Mike retired from Roper and Koch Industries. He enjoyed working flea markets with his late wife, Louise (Gayheart) DiBlasio and was an avid Newark Catholic fan attending many ballgames and sporting events. He was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and served in the US Army. He will long be remembered by his family and friends for being a great storyteller.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Dr. Elmer Gabbard) Williams of Hindman, Kentucky; two grandsons, Whitney and Blake; a granddaughter, Courtney; three sisters, Mary Jane O'Neal, Frances and Theresa DiBlasio; a brother, Carl DiBlasio; nine nieces, Jackie (Steve) Comisford, Carol (Charles) Franks, Kathie Nethers Stoll, Carla (Mike) Barrett, Roxanne Thomas, Linda (Mike) Padgett, Tina (Mike) McMannis, Connee Barrett and Kathy (Mark) Hupp; four nephews, Scott (Lauri) Gayheart, William DiBlasio, Nick DiBlasio and Jeff DiBlasio.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah DiBlasio; and three brothers, Albert, Nicholas and Christian DiBlasio; three brothers-in-law, Paul O'Neal, Ray Gayheart and Morris Gayheart; and a sister-in-law, Mildred DiBlasio.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. (today) Sunday, October 14, at the funeral home, 1249 Hebron Rd., Heath, where a Vigil Service will be held at 7 p.m. with the Reverend JCP Sullivan officiating.
