Raymond W. Schwarz, Sr.

PATASKALA: A funeral service for Raymond W. Schwarz, Sr., age 86, of Pataskala, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor John Kohr officiating. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Schwarz passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala. He was born July 5, 1926 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Carl A. and Emma (Gesell) Schwarz.

Mr. Schwarz was a veteran of the United States Army and faithfully served his country during World War II. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where he had been employed for 35 years. He loved to garden and to tend his roses.

He is survived by three sons, Raymond W., Jr. (Mary) Schwarz and Carl E. (Connie) Schwarz, all of Newark, and Stanley W. Schwarz of Buckeye Lake; daughter, Barbara Ann (Daniel) Gray of Pataskala; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Sue (Ken) Keith of Cedarburg, Wisc. and Esther Burg of Kettering, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. (Farmer) Schwarz, on January 2, 2005.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 22, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
