NEWARK: There will be no funeral service for Robert L. Greenwell, 90, of Newark, who died at his residence. A graveside service will be held in Paducah, KY, at the convenience of the family.

Mr. Greenwell was born in Paducah, KY, to the late Fabian and Florence Greenwell, and was the last surviving of seven siblings.

He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Owens Corning Technical Center, retiring in 1985. He was also a WWII United States Navy veteran, serving at Pearl Harbor, HI.

He was a graduate of the University of Kentucky Engineering School, a member of the Newark Area Jaycees, and a long-time member of the Newark Elks Lodge 391, serving at one time as the Exalted Ruler.

He is survived by his daughter, Dona (Daniel) Dearing of Brookeville, MD, son, Robert (Terry) Greenwell of Granville, OH, and granddaughters, Paige Dearing of Baltimore, Maryland and Chelsea Dearing of New York City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva R. (Gilbert) Greenwell.

There will be no visitation at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home of Newark, who are in charge of the arrangements. Instead, the family requests that any donations be made directly to Heartland Hospice.
