NEWARK: Yu-Mei Chen, 94, of Newark, passed away on January 24, 2013 at the Arlington Care Center while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan on February 23, 1918.
Yu-Mei was Buddhist by faith. She enjoyed celebrating the Chinese New Year; vegetable and flower gardening, playing slot machines at the casinos, and playing the Ohio Lottery. Yu-Mei had an uplifting personality, was always happy and everyone loved being around her. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughters, Kuo Chen He Tse, Lin Gin Ni, Lin Chen Gi Tse, Kuo Chen Ying Hou and Ying-Miao Chen; sons, Ten-Tseng Chen and Kang-Thin Chen; daughters-in-law, Sue Chen and Susie Chen; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ku-Tsing Chen in 1982; and two sons, Kang Chi "Paul" Chen and Kang-Ming Chen.
