NEWARK: A funeral liturgy for Lawrence "Larry" Krempel, 90 of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Church of the Nativity, 126 N. Main St., Utica with Reverend Stephen A. Metzger as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Mount Vernon.

Friends may call 5:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 29 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica, 43080.

Larry died April 26, 2013 at Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark. He was born October 9, 1922, in Mount Vernon to the late John J. and Helena (Berg) Krempel.

Larry was a member of Church of the Nativity, Utica and a World War II Army/Air Corps veteran. He was active in the Northridge school district and past president of Northridge Athletic Boosters and Homer PTO. Larry loved his family, farmed most of his life and enjoyed fishing. He was retired from American Freight System.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Theresa A. (Wade) Krempel of Newark; sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence, Jr and Barbara Krempel of Phoenix, AZ, Richard and Kimberly Krempel of Sidney, Joseph and Robin Krempel of Pataskala, Louis and Martha Krempel of Columbus, IN, David and Toni Krempel of Pataskala; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Richard Hurps of Newark, Anita and John Taulbee of Fairfield, Laura and Gary Ellis of Granville, Mary Jane Pribonic of Mount Vernon; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James and Roberta Krempel of Wooster; and sister, Veronica Dezse of Indianapolis, IN.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, John and Leo Krempel; sisters, Helen Mills, Frances Umphryes, Margaret Chester, Mary Shaffer and Agnes Hawkins; and one grandson.
