Raymond Stuckey Obituary

Raymond C. Stuckey

HEATH: On August 31st, Raymond C. Stuckey, age 90, surrounded by his family, met our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our hearts are broken but we are rejoicing for him that he is with Him. Ray was born September 6, 1920 to the late Clarence T. and Millie (Giehl) of London. He was loved by so many and will be missed greatly.

Formerly of Heath, Ohio, where he lived for 45 years, Ray was a resident of Amber Park Assisted Living in Pickerington where he had many dear friends. He retired as a guidance system technician in 1984 with 24 years of service at the Newark Air Force Base. He was an accomplished watchmaker. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. A charter member of the Candlelighters and was always available to help with duties in the kitchen. He attended Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church after moving to Pickerington.

Survivors include his daughters, Julie (Bill) Koppert, Cinda Borden of Newark and Lynnette (Mark) Kline of Pickerington; grandchildren, Elizabeth (David) Marshall, Mark (Donna) Masters, Andrew (Carrie Koppert, Lindsey (Adam) Sayer, Marcia (Jeff) Campanelli ; nine great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Lois Baber of Greenfield, Betty Christman of Kettering; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years, Mary A. (Baber) Stuckey died July 25, 2011; brother, Brad Stuckey; sister, Kathryn Messmer and infant daughter Marcia Ellen .

Memorial gifts may be made to First United Methodist Church in Newark, Amber Park Assisted Living in Pickerington and FairHoPe Hospice in Lancaster. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday September 3, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 88 N. Fifth Street Newark with Pastor Mike Denman, Pastor Mark Chow and Dr. Jeffrey Greenway officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be observed Friday September 2, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of VENSIL-ORR & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street. www.vocfh.com
