Mary Rose O'Neill

HEATH: A Funeral Mass for Mary Rose O'Neill, 82, of Heath will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 21, 2014, with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Mary Rose, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at the Chapel Grove Inn on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She was born in Newark, Ohio on May 9, 1931 to the late Phillip J. and Irene (Coward) O'Neill.

Mary Rose was a graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School and studied music at St. Mary's of the Spring. She worked for a period of time at Kaiser Aluminum until she joined Delta Airlines where she worked as an airline stewardess for 33 years until her retirement. Mary Rose was a survivor of the flight that crashed in Dallas, Texas on August 31, 1988.

Mary Rose, the last of her immediate family, is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty O'Neill of Newark; longtime friend, Carol Taylor of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and William O'Neill; and her sisters, Frances Irene Stare Holmes and Margaret Smith.

Friends and family may call from 11-12:45 P.M, Monday April 21, 2014 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark.

The family requests that memorials in Mary Rose's name be made to a charity of one's choice.

Mary Rose was a very quiet woman, but she would often talk to my father at chapel Grove. It made him very happy to have her to talk to. She was very kind to him. Without a doubt she will be missed by many. She blessed many lives.
