Barbara Dickey Boles

HAMPTON, VA: A funeral service for Barbara Dickey Boles, age 87, of Hampton, Virginia, formerly of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, at the Criss-Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville Street, Newark, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Boles passed away at her home on Monday, March 18, 2013. She was born May 16, 1925 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Arthur James and Lottie Dickey. Barbara was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, John F. (Linda) Boles and Greg (Linda) Boles; daughters, Judy Ureel, Linda (Melvin) Tabar, and Barbara (Darrell) Holloway; grandchildren, Ramona Russell, Lee Ureel, Sue Ureel, AJ Ureel, Saundra Ayache, Jim Tabar, Pam Turcotte, Rick Tabar, Michelle Baxter, Shannon Paulus, John E. Boles, Amy McNutt, Marcie Holloway, Marc Holloway, and Susan Diane Presley; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Randall (Helen) Dickey; and sisters-in-law, Doris Dickey and MaryLee Simms.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in rest by her husband of 59 years, John C. Boles; a daughter, Diane Boles Chapman; son-in-law, Leo Ureel; brothers, Stanley, Byron and Floyd Dickey; and sisters, Phyllis Simms, Genevieve Russell, Peggy Crossmock and Arla Davy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., Mail Stop 112038, St. Paul, MN 55101. Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
