Bonnie Jean Cooper

THORNVILLE: Bonnie Jean Cooper, 90, of Thornville, died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at her residence.

Bonnie was born March 9, 1922 to the late John F. and Cora A. Simmons Dove. She was a 1940 graduate of Thornville High School; a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Thornville; the Lancaster Christian Women's Club and the Trinity Guild. Bonnie retired from the office of Shelly and Sands, Inc. in Zanesville, Ohio where she worked from 1955-1995.

Bonnie is survived by a niece, Jean (Gene) Jackson of Baltimore, Ohio; three other nieces and three other nephews; and special friends, Janet and Neil Beard, and Carol and Leroy Parsons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles E. Cooper; a son, Terry L. Cooper, who gave his life in Vietnam; a sister, Lucille Pitsenbarger; and a brother, Marvin A. Dove.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the Bope-Thomas Funeral Home in Somerset where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Patricia Battle officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornville Lutheran Reform Cemetery.
