Brenda Sue Cost
NEWARK: Funeral services for Brenda Sue Cost, 56, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 7, 2015 with Rev. Fr. Robert Willmann as celebrant. Interment will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Brenda, a 1976 Newark High School graduate, died at the Chapel Grove Inn on Monday, August 3, 2015 following a two year battle with lymphoma. She was born in Newark, Ohio on August 29, 1958 to Elizabeth "Betty" (Shaw) Corsi, of Newark, and the late Mario Corsi Sr.
At age 16, Brenda started her career at Licking Memorial Hospital (LMH) where she worked in the radiology and mammography department for 40 years.
Brenda, an avid gardener, enjoyed spending time outdoors camping and tending her many flower beds. She liked to take day trips to Amish Country and would often join her husband and brothers as they attended car shows.
In addition to her mother, Brenda is survived by her husband, of 18 years, Stephen D. Cost Jr, of the home; her children, Corey (Jennifer) Corsi, Jennifer Cost, and Michael Cost; her grandson, Luca Corsi; her siblings, David (Kathy) Corsi, Mario Jr. (Patty) Corsi, Bruce (Lisa) Corsi, and Clarence Price; her mother-in-law, Joyce Cost; brother-in-law, Nick (Susan) Cost; and many nieces and nephews. Brenda is also survived by a very large support system within the Licking Valley and Hainsview Communities; especially Kristie Conley and Brenda Colley who spent many hours giving care and organizing meal donations and support.
In addition to her father, Brenda was preceded in death by her siblings, Eva Walker, Jerry Price, and Joseph Corsi; and her father-in-law, Stephen D. Cost Sr.
Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Thursday, August 6, 2015.
