NEWARK: Funeral services for Burl Williams, Jr. will be held 10:00 A.M. Wednesday March 13, 2013 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark with Rev. Brian Redman presiding. Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens where military honors will be rendered by Licking County Veterans Alliance. The family will receive friends and relatives 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home where a Masonic service will be conducted at 5:45 P.M. Tuesday.
Mr. Williams, age 72, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Autumn Care Center, Newark. He was born December 30, 1940 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to his parents Burl and Roxie Williams Sr. Burl Jr. served with the U.S. Army during peacetime. Burl spent most of his working career in the transportation industry working and retiring first from Safety Kleen Company and then as independent owner-operator trucker working with Federal Transportation. He was a member of Newark Lodge #97 F.&A.M.
Burl is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Janice Williams; sons Shawn Williams of Newark and Jason (Jessica) Williams of Newark; grandchildren Kevin Mooreheaad, Riley Williams and Reagan Williams; great granddaughter Trinity Moorehead; brothers and sisters Harris Banks, Alice Callahan, Albert Williams, Betty Young, Don Williams and Audrey Williams as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, 3 brothers Delmar, Ed and Courtney Williams preceded Burl in death.
