Charles Lester Schornak
COLUMBUS: Charles Lester Schornak, age 88, a very special, husband, father, grandfather and friend, left this world on Saturday, October 13, 2012, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born on August 14, 1924, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to George and Bridget Schornak. The family moved to Columbus, Ohio, when he was a young boy and he remained in the capital city until moving to Licking County five years ago.
Charlie is survived by Anne, his beloved wife of 65 years. He was a devoted husband and took care of Annie each and every day as she has progressed with Alzheimers; Daughters, Charlene (Ken) Graves of Dublin and Michele (Dave) Daubenmire of Thornville;Grandchildren, Zachary, Abigail, Morgan, Chuck, Tracy, Maggie, Isaiah; and great granddaughter, Reese; Brothers, Don (Janet) and Dick (Carolyn) ;and one sister, Anna Mae; Brothers-in-laws,Nuzie Marinelli, Tony (Julie) Marinelli;and sisters- in-law Polly (Bob) Good and Rosie (Bob) Carver; and numerous nieces;and nephews.
Charlie was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corp in the battles in the Pacific. He was the owner and operator of The Able Printing Company for 50 years.
He also was a member of the Piave Club and the American Legion. He was most proud of being a volunteer at Riverside Hospital on the cardiac unit for over 20 years.
The family would like to extend a sincere thanks and appreciation to all the workers at Generation Hospice and Chapel Grove Inn for all the love and care that was given to Charlie.
Charlie's family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on TUESDAY, October 16, 2012 at the JOHN QUINT TREBONI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 1177 W. 5th Avenue, where the funeral will be held WEDNESDAY, October 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. John K. Cody, Presiding.
Entombment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High Street, Lockbourne, Ohio
