Dale E. Hill

NEWARK: A funeral service for Dale E. Hill, 102, of Newark, formerly of Jacksontown, will be held at 1PM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, with Tim Church officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call 6-8PM, Monday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.

Mr. Hill passed away Friday, August 17, 2012, at Flint Ridge Nursing Home. He was born June 25, 1910, in Spokane, Washington, a son of George L. and Anna (Dye) Hill. A long time resident of Jacksontown, he was elected as the only constable to serve in Licking Township. An automobile mechanic for many years, he owned and operated the garage in Jacksontown. Mr. Hill was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Assembly.

Surviving are his sons, Gail E. (Bertie) Hill and Homer G. (Deanna) Hill, both of Newark; grandchildren, Gail Hill, Jr., Laurie (Terrence) Kelly; Holly Hill, Elizabeth (Roy) Swanson, Jennifer Rehbeck; step grandchildren, Ralph (Diane) Rine, Reba (Chester) Dunlap; eleven great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys G. (Bright) Hill in 1997; a brother Wilford Hill and a sister, Wilma Allen.
