HANOVER: A funeral service for Daniel Roike, 82, of Hanover will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 76 E. Main St., Newark, OH with The Reverend Robert E. Willmann officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Roike passed away on January 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born on November 10, 1930 in Newark, OH to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Cadan) Roike.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Bonnie Jeanne (Andrews) Roike, whom he married November 29, 1971; son, Jeffrey Alan (Deborah) Roike; special daughter-in-law, Atha (Sis) Shrivers; 2 grandsons, Michael J. Roike and James P. Roike; 1 step-grandson, Stephen San Filippo; 2 step-granddaughters, Lesa Mitchell and Roberta (Bobbi) Shrivers; 5 step-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Nicole Short, Robert Blake Short, Christian Tanner Spellman, David Kody Mitchell and Trittnee Mitchell; and sister, Lena Wise.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step- son, Robert William Shrivers; 1 brother, Tommy Roike and 2 sisters, Viola Sampoul and Ireka Ball.

Mr. Roike retired from Rockwell International after 36 years in Newark and Kenton, OH. He graduated from Newark High School in 1948. He was owner of Hanover Drive Thru for 13 years. He was a member of the Hanover Council for 12 years, the Elks Lodge #157 in Kenton, OH and Madison Grange.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH.
