Donald Frederick Gutridge

HEBRON: Donald F. Gutridge, 91, of Hebron, died Saturday evening, August 24, 2013, in Pomerene Hospital, Millersburg, following a period of declining health. He was born near Glenford, Ohio on November 17, 1921, the son of the late Ross and Carrie (Walser) Gutridge. A 1940 graduate of Glenford H.S., Don served honorably in the US Army in Saipan. He was a member of the Franklin Grange and 70+ year member of the Hebron United Methodist Church.

He was an active member of the Hebron community, working and eventually owning the Hebron Milling Company, from where he retired after 41 years. In his retirement, he worked for the Lakewood local school district. He enjoyed mowing, gardening and watching baseball, both his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and Lakewood Schools.

Survived by his loving family: his daughters Donita (Michael) McFarland of Hebron, Kathleen ( William) Lattig of Newark, grandchildren Lori Lattig, Kim (Nick) Trubiano, Matt (Lora) Lattig and Kevin (Mandy) McFarland, 6 great-grandchildren Kylee and Cullen McFarland, Dominic and Roman Trubiano and Zane and Jacob Lattig; sisters-in-law Virginia and Nora Lee Gutridge.

Preceded in death by parents, wife Lola on Dec. 31, 2002, brothers Eugene, Gail and Junior Gutridge and sister-in-law Frances Gutridge.

Friends may call on Tuesday August 27, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kirkersville home of The HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service, where funeral services celebrating his life will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Burial with full military honors will follow at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
