Donald R. Myers
NEWARK: A private graveside service for Donald R. Myers, 83 of Newark will be in Eden Cemetery with Pastor James Dennis officiating.
Donald, died June 8, 2013 at his residence. He was born April 7, 1930, in Parma, Ohio to the late Ralph H. and Elizabeth (Bartok) Myers.
Don served his country during the Korean War as an infantry squad leader in the 43rd Infantry Division, U.S. Army. He was a member of the Korean War Veteran's Assn., Veterans of Foreign Wars and the National Infantry Assn., the National Assn. of Realtors, Ohio Assn. of Realtors and the Licking Co. Board of Realtors. He was the broker/owner of Century 21 Don R. Myers Real Estate, Inc. since November 1975. He was a life member of the National Rifle Assn. Don also enjoyed being a member of the Newark Baptist Temple.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl A. Myers of Newark, who cared for him during his courageous battle with cancer; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald "Gary" Myers of Newark, David R. and Mary Myers of Newark, Daniel L. Myers of Frazeysburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Robert Warner of Granville, Dianne and Kenneth Wiechert of Newark; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Norman L. and EmmaJean Myers of St. Louisville.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy "Dottie" (Mummey) Myers.
