Doris V. Cameron Barrick

FRAZEYSBURG: Doris V. Cameron Barrick, 91, of Perryton, Ohio died Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2011 in the emergency room of Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio.

Born October 18, 1920 in Nashport, Ohio she was a daughter of the late Manoah Henry and Sarah Nancy (Pethel) Cameron and was a graduate of Frazeysburg High School and Ohio University. Mrs. Barrick was an elementary school teacher and retired from Heath City Schools. She also taught for Licking Valley Schools and had 21 years of service. She was a member of the Perryton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Retired Teachers Association, 51 Club and the Licking Valley Historical Society. She was formerly a member of Frazeysburg Order of Eastern Star and was a former member of the Licking Valley Board of Education. Mrs. Barrick enjoyed doing embroidery, bird watching and antiques and she loved to travel.

Surviving is one son and daughter in-law, Robert D. and Lois Barrick of Zanesville; two daughters and sons in-law, Betty and Ron Miller and Alice and Jerry Wright, both of Perryton; one sister, Elogene Wilson of Newark; four grandchildren, JoAnne (Keith) Hill, Barry (Fran) Wright, Kelly (Jeannie) Miller and Kyle (Lorrie) Miller; seven great grandchildren, Kristopher Hill, Kimberly Hill, Alex Wright, Austin Wright, Emily Miller, Kylie Miller and Shae Miller; a sister in-law, Mary Jane Walcutt of Newark and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband of 62 years, Dale L. Barrick whom she married December 3, 1936 and who died July 14, 1999; four brothers, Earl, Jack, Beryl and Henry Cameron and seven sisters, Juanita Bone, Geraldine Moran, Phyllis Kanaval, Mary Alice Oldaker, Hazel Cameron, Roberta Stiles and Joanna Ragor; and a great grandchild.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 10:30am Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Perryton Cemetery.
