Dortha I. Deweese

NEWARK: A funeral service for Dortha I. Deweese, 94, of Newark will be held at 11 AM on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Faith United Methodist Church, 261 E. Main St., Newark, OH with Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. A graveside service will be held prior at 10 AM on Friday at Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Deweese passed away on August 26, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Center.

She was born on March 17, 1919 in Logan, OH to the late William D. and E. Gladys (Crane) Fraizer.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Jo) Deweese, Robert (Wilma) Deweese and Glenn (Cheryl) Deweese; seven grandchildren, David (Winnie) Deweese, Scott (Keri) Deweese, Brett (Angie) Deweese, Carrie St. Clair (Don Mann), Jason (Mae-Ling) Deweese, Julie (Tony) Shonebarger and Christie Hammond; ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Elsie Deweese.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Deweese; grandson, Matthew Deweese; brothers, Charles, Dwight and C. Harold Fraizer; sisters, Hazel Glasmeier and Helen Delancey.

Mrs. Deweese was a 65-year member of the Faith United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, member of the choir and Women of Faith. She was the bookkeeper for Deweese Brothers Market and Deweese's IGA. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and reading her Bible.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 5-8 PM at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH.
