Florence B. Huffman
NEWARK: Another of the "Greatest Generation" has left us
A celebration of life service for Florence B. Huffman, 91, of Newark, will be held at 10:30AM, Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, with Barbara Kocik officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Pataskala Cemetery.
Mrs. Huffman passed away Saturday morning, July 7, 2012, at Autumn Health Care Center in Newark. She was born March 15, 1921, in Dennison, Ohio, a daughter of the late Earl A. and Sarah M. (Nichols) Gray. A devoted Christian; she had been a church secretary at the Pataskala United Methodist Church and also at Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church where she was a member. She was also a talented pianist and enjoyed playing the piano at Christian Endeavor.
Surviving are her children, Tom (Karen) Huffman of Newark, Keith (Ann) Huffman of Broomfield, Colorado, Phyllis J. (Mike) Glasco of Marion, Brenda J. (Ken) Murdock of Lenexa, Kansas; grandchildren, Linda (Scott) Pansing of Delaware, Greg Glasco of Columbus, Jeff Huffman of Denver, Brad Huffman of Dayton, Scott Murdock and Kevin Murdock of Kansas City, Missouri, Kurt Murdock of Lenexa, Kansas, Justin Huffman and Kirsten Huffman of Broomfield, Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Braden Huffman of Newark; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Huffman on November 11, 1981; and her four sisters, Earlene (Frank) Petty, Ruth (Rusty) Elliott, Mary (John) Watson and Pat (Bob) Matovich.
Friends may call one hour prior to the 10:30AM, service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.
