Frederick David Iler

SAINT AUGUSTINE, FL: Frederick David Iler, 65 passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at his home in Saint Augustine, Florida.

Fred was born April 2, 1947 in Newark, Ohio to the late James C. Iler, Sr and Freda (Hughes) Iler. He graduated Newark High in 1965, served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam era and worked many years at the Newark Air Force Base before moving to Saint Augustine, Florida.

Fred proudly donated over 42 gal. of blood in his lifetime and was 1 of only 3 in his area able to donate platelets for new born babies. He loved his family and showing his purple custom 1948 Mercury truck.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, whom he married November 7, 1971; son, John (Laura) Iler, and granddaughter, Amber of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Tina Iler, and granddaughters, Katrina and Sabrina of California; brothers, James C. Iler, Jr (Peggy) of Nashville, Tenn, Harry Iler of Newark, Oh and Trophy (Ginny) Iler of Saint Louisville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Edsel Cable; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Patricia (Edsel) Cable, Dolores; and brother in law, Royal Rector.
