Newark: A Funeral Mass for George Anthony Biddle, 63, of Newark, will be held at The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 10:30 A.M., Monday, September 24, 2012 with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.
George, a parishioner of The Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at Licking Memorial Hospital on Thursday, September 20, 2012. He was born in Newark, Ohio on October 28, 1948 to the late George H. and Marie (Wachaya) Biddle.
George, a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, was a 1966 graduate of Newark Catholic High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business from COTC. He was the owner of Legend Valley Park, was the former manager of the Agora Ballroom, Columbus, and was a self-employed carpenter. In addition, George dedicated many years to the youth of Licking County as a coach with North Newark Little League, Licking County Stallions, Newark Catholic Baseball, and YMCA Football. He was also an enormous Cleveland Brown's fan.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kerrin (Milstead) Biddle, of the home; his son, George A. Biddle; his daughter, Sunny Biddle, both of Newark; his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Walter Wolfe of Newark; his mother-in-law, Jeri Milstead of Dublin; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his sister, Angela Biddle Miller; and his father-in-law, Glenn Milstead.
Friends and family may call from 2-6 P.M., Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 5:30 P.M.
The family requests that memorial be made to North Newark Little League; or Blessed Sacrament Building Fund.
