George William Brown

HEATH: A funeral service for George William Brown, 36, of Heath, will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the McPeek-Hoekstra Funeral Home in Granville with Rev. Keith Sjostrand officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Private burial will be held at Jacksontown Cemetery.

George passed on to the Kingdom of God peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the James Cancer Center after a long battle with cancer. George was born on December 9, 1974 to Daisy E. (Brown) Campbell. He was a member of the Christian Apostolic Church and was involved in the Acts Program. Above all, he learned to love the Lord.

George was a 1992 graduate of Newark High School and attended JVS. He completed the O.P.O.T.A. training course to pursue a career in law enforcement, while he worked at the Owens Tech Center until he could no longer perform due to his illness.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Evelyn (Brown) Campbell; a special aunt, Diane; cousin, Karlee; and niece, Laelah; grandmothers; aunts; uncles; his church family; and friends throughout the illness at Owens Corning, Herb Dales, Bill Streicher, the Maintenance Department, and the many others at Owens who continued to remember and support him through his courageous battle.

He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Richard Campbell.
