Harold W. Callihan

NEWARK: Graveside services for Harold Wayne Callihan, 85, of Newark, will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens, 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, with Rev. Rick Ritamna officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Callihan, a United States Navy WWII Veteran, died at his home on Monday, January 30, 2012. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 15, 1926 to the late Ray Washington and Viola Belina (Fulton) Callihan.

Harold was retired from Copco Papers where he worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, and could often be seen sitting in his driveway enjoying the outdoors and keeping an eye on the neighborhood.

Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Laubenschiemer) Callihan, of the home; his daughter, Rebecca Ann Haughn of Norwalk; his grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Floyd Bernard and Shirley Callihan, his sister, Helen Loretta Clannin; and longtime family friends Larry and Betty Lou Iden, and Gary and Duanna Luttman, all of Newark.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by 3 siblings; and his step-son. Richard Melvin McLaughlin.
