Harold P. Galbraith

NEWARK: A funeral service for Harold P. Galbraith, 92 of Newark will be held Monday, September 23, 2013 at1:00 p.m. in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Isch officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.

Mr. Galbraith passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center operated by Hospice of Central Ohio.

He was born December 6, 1920 in Johnstown to the late Harry and Lura (Watson) Galbraith.

He grew up on a farm and had several interesting jobs during his career. Harold served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a skilled mechanic, drove for Dalton Horn & Sons milk trucks, provided maintenance for the Athena Nursing Home, his last position before retirement was with Joe and Kris Mortello of the McDonald Corp. and the McDonald's family.

He is survived by his wife, Florence "Flo" E. (Brown) Cornwell Galbraith; three children, Andrew (Ava) Galbraith, Debra (Thomas) McClung, Mark Galbraith; two step-children, Ronda Cornwell Winner, Burton L. (Kris) Cornwell; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Hospice of Central Ohio, Tridia Hospice and his doctors.

Visitation will be observed Sunday September 22, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME 1850 West Main Street, Newark, Ohio.
