Jacqueline "Jackie" Shaw

NEWARK: A funeral service for Jacqueline "Jackie" Shaw, 83, of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Lisa Willey and Pastor Norm Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Jackie passed away November 23, 2012, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born May 25, 1929, in Springfield, OH, to the late Pinkney and Ardeth (Davis) Lee.

She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1949 and immediately moved to Newark where she worked at Western Products and met her husband John "Jack" Shaw. They were married on Dec. 23, 1954. They were married 47 years when he passed away on Dec. 29, 2001. She attended Community Wesleyan Church. After she raised her children she babysat for many years in her home and cared for them as if they were her own. She enjoyed reading her bible and playing the piano. She loved people and had many friends. She loved her entire family. She enjoyed shopping, taking short trips and eating out with her daughters.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Shaw and Sarah Shaw both of Newark; five brothers, Lewis Lee of Hebron, Lloyd Lee of Heath, Laird (Kathy) Lee of Heath, Leland (Choosre) Lee of Walpahu, Hawaii, and Leonard (Sarah) Lee of Newark; several nieces and nephews, and she also leaves behind her special dog Woody and many close friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Loren, Richard, and Lowell Lee, and sisters, Maxine Hicks and Oneida Vinings.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Wesleyan Church, 161 Myrtle Avenue, Newark, Ohio 43055.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
