LIMA: James Charles "Jim" Ferguson, 67 of Lima formerly of Zanesville, passed away July 15, 2014 at 10:10 am at his residence. Jim was born December 28, 1946 in Zanesville, the son of Woodrow and Frances (Mirowski) Ferguson who preceded him in death. Jim was a 1964 graduate of the West Muskingum High School. He then graduated with a BA degree from the Ohio State University. Jim was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Jim continued to serve his country by working as an electronic technician with the Newark Air Force Base and then as an Occupational Health and Safety Manager with General Dynamics, Lima, for 30 years retiring in 2010. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks #54, Moose Lodge # 199, F.O.E. Eagles # 370, V.F.W. #1275 and the American Legion #96. He was an avid golfer and loved anything that was associated with the Ohio State University, especially football. Most of all, he cherished his time with his family and friends.
Jim is survived by a daughter, LeeAnn (Tim) Riley of Mount Perry; a sister, Lisa (Duane) Murray of Glenford; two grandchildren, Amanda H. Riley and Tim Riley Jr. and a great granddaughter, Kaydence Nicole, all of Mt. Perry, and one great grandbaby on the way. He is also survived by a niece, Alaina Curry and two nephews, Hugh Curry and Joseph Curry. Jim was previously married to Christy (Johnson) Ferguson Cover who survives in Zanesville.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Hillis Combs and Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Graveside Services will be held 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Zanesville with the United Stated Army conducting Full Military Honors.
