James Floyd Nethers

ST. LOUISVILLE: A funeral service for James Floyd Nethers, 83, of St. Louisville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, at the Church of God of Licking County, with Pastor Anthony Bartlette officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

James passed away July 7, 2013, at his son's residence. He was born July 5, 1930, in St. Louisville, to the late Carey E. and Mary Eva (Lake) Nethers.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Church of God of Licking County.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lavina E. (Eismon) Nethers, whom he married on September 4, 1952; children, David (Pam) Nethers of Utica, Dixie Hysell of Newark, Roger (Barbara) Nethers of Georgia, Michael (LeAnn) Nethers of Newark, Neil (Vera) Nethers of Fredericktown, Helen Bechtol of St. Louisville, Tammy (Max) Wiseman of Utica and Cherie Boyer of Newark; sister, Virginia Hall of Newark; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Foster and Joseph; sister, Frances Beond and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church, 2181 Riggs Rd., Newark, Ohio 43055, and also from 10 to 11 a.m. one hour prior to the service on Friday.
