Jean E. Partington (Best)

COLUMBUS: Jean E. Partington (Best), born October 30, 1919 in Beaver Falls, PA, went home to her Lord on July 15, 2012. Proceeding her in death, were her parents, brother Ezra, sister Ruth, as well as her beloved husband, Kenneth, to whom she was married 63 years.

In 2003, Jean and Ken moved from Newark to Columbus where they were residents of Friendship Village of Columbus. Jean was a registered nurse and a member of Licking Memorial Hospital's Twig 16. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newark, but also attended The Church of the Messiah in Westerville. She enjoyed crafts, reading and quilting. Despite her on-going health challenges, Jean remained a gentle spirit appreciative of others.

Mrs. Partington is survived by one brother, Jon Best of Florida; three children: David (Barbara) Partington of Chesterland, OH, Donald (Becki) Partington of San Juan Capistrano, CA, and Nancy (David) Hardy of Heath, OH; four grandchildren: Katie (Gavin Howarth) Partington of Hamilton, Bermuda, Joshua (Michelle) Partington of Costa Mesa, CA, Morgan (David) Antle of Newark, OH and Mallory (Greg Brown) Hardy of Melbourne, Australia. Jean enjoyed her one great grandchild, Theodore "Teddy" Antle.

Private memorial services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking others to consider contributions to Mount Carmel Hospice, Dawes Arboretum, First United Methodist Church's Minister's Discretionary Fund or Candlelighter's Group.

The family requests that all guestbook condolences be signed at www.brucker-kishlerfuneralhome.com and click obituaries/guestbook entry.
