LANCASTER: Jeanne Louise Fenner Helm passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27th, with family by her side. She was born May 18th, 1920 in Oceanside Long Island NY, the 2nd child of Raymond Baldwin and Louise Antoinette (Gaskell) Fenner. Jeanne graduated from Freeport High School on Long Island in 1938. She was a 1942 graduate of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA, where she met her future husband, Jack Helm. They married on June 5th, 1943 and raised 6 children during their nearly 52 wonderful years together.
Jeanne was the kindest and most loving mother of Anne Louise Anderson (Newark, OH), John R (Kay) Helm, Donald C (Linda) Helm, Virginia H (Kevin) Moore, Geraldine A "Gerri" Helm, and James A (Mindy) Helm; the Proud Nana and Grandma of Jeanne (Mike) Stevens, John (Kate) Anderson III, Joseph (Kristi) Helm, Christina (Mike) Boehmer, Michele (Eric) Haddox, Adena Hoplite, Aaron Hoplite, Jason (Katie) Robb, Sara (Joe) Aiello, Ron Helm, fiancée Jen Law, Jackie Helm, fiancé Zach Wilson, and Katie (Jeff) Welsh; Sweet Grandnana to Elisabeth Stevens, Ted Stevens, Emelia Anderson, Nick Helm, Alli Helm, Cassaundra Hoplite Sutton, Lily Haddox, Paige Haddox, Clark Robb, Alexis Robb, Jenna Robb, Elizabeth Aiello, Hank Aiello, John Aiello, and Robbie Welsh. Jeanne is also survived by her nephew Robert (Joyce) Fenner, cousin Andy Heaton, former sons-in-law John P Anderson Jr and Kenneth B. Robb; Sisters-in-law Martha Helm Barr and Marjorie Bates Helm and numerous nieces and nephews from the Helm family. Special friends that were considered family: Mark Hurd, Randy Dupler and her GNO girls. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C "Jack" Helm; her parents Raymond and "Nettie" Fenner and her brother and sister-in-law Allan Hirst (Hilda) Fenner.
She was a devout member of St Peter's Lutheran Church since 1966, and the monthly hostess of its Lydia Circle for many years. Thank you's include, but are certainly not limited to: her dear friend and caregiver, Sue Hutchinson, Pastor Emil and Barbara Klatt, and the entire St. Peter's congregation, Dr Richard Sielski and the staff of Arborview Family Medicine, Dr Chris (Therese) Ryckman, The staffs of AlternaCare Visiting Nurses, Lanfair and Homestead rehabilitation centers.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church with Pastor Emil Klatt officiating. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30 from 4-8 PM at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME and also one hour prior to the service at church.
