Jeremiah Steele
NEWARK: A funeral service for Jeremiah Steele will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Michael Noble officiating. Interment will be held at Newark Memorial Gardens.
Jerry was born in Newark on October 23, 1932 to the late Miles and Lula (Davis) Steele. He died Monday December 31, 2012 at the Licking Memorial Hospital. He was 80.
Jerry was a graduate of Newark High School where he set many records in athletics, and loved field and track, football, and baseball. He retired from Rockwell International, keeping himself busy by reading the bible and biblical literature, fishing and enjoying life with his friends and family.
He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Steele is preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Cecil; and his sister Shirley.
He survived by his children, Jeremiah M. Steele, Rendy L. Steele, and Jerri M. Steele; and his grandchildren Taashani Smith and Damani Haile.
