HOWARD: Funeral services for Joseph Edward Brown, 55, of Howard, will be held at the REED EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 with Pastor Dennis Eggerton celebrating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps.
Joe, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, died at his home on Saturday, June 15, 2013. He was born in Newark, Ohio on June 27, 1957 to Joseph and Sandra (Fox) Brown of Newark.
Joe, baptized Catholic, was a 1975 graduate of Licking Valley High School. Following his service with the Marines, Joe received his certification from the Aerial Corporation where he worked as a machinist for many years.
As an avid outdoorsman, Joe loved to work in the garden and was known to make his own batch of maple syrup. He was a member of the Journey Church of Howard and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a beloved son.
In addition to his parents, Joe will be greatly missed by his wife of 27 years, Loria (Satterfield) Brown; his son, Jeremy Brown, both of the home; his daughters and son-in-law, Shannon Brown (Timothy Kochis) and Carli and Stephen Frost, all of Mt. Vernon; his grandchildren, Jacob Frost, Taylor Frost and Ava Kochis; his brothers, Jim Brown of Coshocton and Tom Brown of Johnstown; his sister and brother-in-law, Audrey and Doug Howard of Johnstown; his aunts and uncles, Joe and Jill Bending and Fran and Joe Williams, all of Newark, and Carol and Buz Koehler of Indiana; his father-in-law, Paul Satterfield of West Virginia; his grandmother-in-law, Isabella Satterfield of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a special uncle, William A. "Bill" Craig.
