Juanita Mae (Lake) Belles

NEWARK: A funeral service for Juanita Mae Belles, 55, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery.

Mae passed away peacefully July 18, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. She was born March 11, 1957, in Newark, to the late Kenneth L. Lake, Sr. and Bonnie L. (Priest) Weiss.

Mae was employed by Heath Walmart for 15 years where she enjoyed assisting customers and keeping her co-workers in good spirits. She also enjoyed working with crafts, planting flowers, and spending time at home with family. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother to her siblings and children. She was a constant caregiver to all. Putting others needs before her own. She was a kind-hearted woman with an ornery side.

She is survived by her three children, Leslie J. McGuire Jr., Bonnita (Paul) Fowler, Jr., Tina (Patrick Dover, Jr.) Belles; grandchildren, Chloe and Noah Dover; brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Liz) Lake, Jr., Ronald (Laura) Lake, Sue (Leonard) Wells, Cricket (Marylou) Lake, and Becky (Deano) Hottinger; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews, and special friends, Nancy (Jack) Sforza, Rosie (Ed) Slack, and friends and neighbors of the Little Texas Community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John A. Lake and special neighbor, Christina McClain.

Mae leaves behind a very special little girl whom she praised and was the love of her life, her granddaughter, Chloe. Chloe's message to her Grams is this is not goodbye, it's see ya later and I love you more.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, PO Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430.
