Kathryn J. Nethers

NEWARK: A funeral service for Kathryn J. Nethers, 99, of Newark will held at 11 AM on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church, 1415 Londondale Parkway, Newark, OH with Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.

Kathryn passed away on July 5, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was born on May 17, 1913 to the late Elias and Iva (Tavenner) Swick in Newark, OH.

She is survived by her two sons, Clifford of Dade City, FL and Dan (Lisa) of Deleware, OH; five daughters, Norma Moore of Newark, Charlotte (Skip) McCrillis of McRae, GA, Gloria Brown Cullison of Buckeye Lake, Joy (Larry) Pressnell of Columbus and Kathie (Barry) Stoll of Barberton; 12 grandsons; 8 granddaughters; 14 great-grandsons; 17 great-granddaughters; 7 great-great-grandsons; 4 great-great-granddaughters; sister, Mabel Beever of Homer; sister-in-law, Lucille Young of Newark; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Nethers who passed away in 1980; brother, George Swick; sister, Mary Louise Stevens; father and mother-in-laws, Kearney and Minnie (Lienhard) Nethers; and son-in-law, Larry Moore.

Kathryn was a member of the Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church for 59 years and the Central Mothers Club for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Kathryn enjoyed playing canasta with her longtime friends, crocheting and quilting.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21ST St., Newark, OH.
