HEATH: Graveside funeral services for Mary Anna Burling, 93, of Heath will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 10, 2012 with Fr. Michael Reis celebrating.
Mary Anna died at the Selma Markowitz Care Center of Hospice of Central Ohio on Monday, November 5, 2012. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 6, 1919 to the late Henry and Barbara (Reiss) Stahl.
Mary Anna was a graduate of Western University, Bowling Green, KY, and completed studies at Ohio University and The Ohio State University. She was an elementary school teacher for over 33 years, retiring from Stevenson Elementary, Heath, following 13 years of service.
She was a parishioner of St. Leonard Catholic Church where she was a volunteer and member of the Women's Guild. Mary Anna was also a member of Zerger Hall, Daughters of Isabella, Business of Professional Women, Ohio Retired Teachers Association Life Member, and Licking County Retired Teachers.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Laura (Ronny) Doles; grandson, Charles (Rebecca) Cameron; her great-grandchildren, Darren Conley, Alyssa Hammond, Colin and Nathan Cameron; her great-great-granddaughter, Arianna Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mary Anna was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty B. Cameron; her husbands, Walter Cron, Donald B. Burling, and Jack L. Burling; two brothers; and one sister.
