Norman Romeo Castro

NEWARK: A funeral service, celebrating the life of Norman Romeo Castro, 79, of Newark, was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of The Kirkersville home of The HOSKINSON Funeral & Cremation Service.

Norman died Saturday afternoon, January 26, 2013 in Pataskala, following a brief illness. He was born December 29, 1933 in Lewiston, Maine, the son of the late Placido and Marie Rose Castro. A career member of The US Air Force, he was stationed at over 9 bases around the globe. He served honorably during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam war. He retired in 1988.

He enjoyed trains, photography and computers. He was a Roman Catholic by faith.

He is survived by his loving family: His daughters Michelle (Mark) See and Rose Castro, both of Pataskala; his grandchildren Jonathon, Ashley, Jennifer and Karolynn; his great-grandchildren Joshua and Payton; brother-in-law Harold Fogg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lena in 2009.

His family received friends on Tuesday evening from 5-6:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville, where an on-line guest register and video tribute are available at
