Paul Edward Crawmer, Sr.

NEWARK: A Funeral Liturgy for Paul Edward Crawmer, Sr., 83, of Newark will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, 11:30 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2013 with Rev. JCP Sullivan, Parish Priest celebrating. Interment will follow in Hanover Cemetery with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Paul, a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, died at his home in Newark on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was born in Toboso, Ohio on September 19, 1929 to the late John William and Ollie Josephine (Nethers) Crawmer. Paul graduated from Hanover High School and was very proud to have been employed by the Newark Hospital as their First Ward Boy. He later served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After proudly serving his country he was employed by Kaiser Aluminum in Heath, Ohio and later transferred to Jacksonville Fl with Kaiser Aluminum where he retired in 1991.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, coaching little league sports and fishing. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Newark Druids.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Norma Jean (Bowers) Crawmer, of the home; his five children and their spouses, Gerry (Ken) McNabb of Dunedin, FL, Jean (Scott) Gartside of Heath, OH, Paul (Lynn) Crawmer, Jr. of Newberry, FL, Robert Crawmer of Glen St. Mary, FL, and Pamela (Tony) Nicoli of Fruit Cove, FL; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou (Donald) Osborn of Toboso, OH; his brothers in law Kenneth and Robert Bowers; his sisters in law, Shirley Linn and Maxine Crawmer; several nieces and nephews, including special nephew, John W. (Patty) Osborn of Toboso.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, William J. Crawmer; and his granddaughter, Sheila Marie Sunkle Byers.
