Ralph W. "Jack" Hunter

NEWARK: A funeral service for Ralph W. "Jack" Hunter, 86, of Newark will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Harnish officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.

Mr. Hunter passed away on April 4, 2012 at the Selma Markowitz Center. He was born on October 13, 1925 to the late Ralph B. and Jessie M. (Jones) Hunter in Newark, OH.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jackie (Welsh) Hunter; sons, Larry Hunter of Viera, FL and Randy (Kim) Hunter of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Christie (Paul), Matt (Jen) and Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Blake; brothers, Don (Juanita) Hunter and Tom (Linda) Hunter; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Hunter and great-grandson, Ryan Dentinger.

Mr. Hunter retired from the City of Newark Engineering Office. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a lifetime member of the Newark Masonic Lodge #97 and the American Legion Post #85. Jack was a charter member of the Mound City Little League Commission and was one of many responsible for founding Mound City Little League Park. He was also a member of the Christ United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 6-8 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH. Masonic service will be held at 5:45 PM.
