Ret. SMSGT. David Jon Lott

JACKSONVILLE, AR: Ret. SMSGT. David Jon Lott, known by everyone as "Buddha", 71, of Jacksonville, AR passed away on August 12, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Lott, his mother, Marie Coffman McClellan; stepfather, James McClellan of Newark, OH., and his son, Kevin Lott.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael (Tammy) Lott and Stephen ( Tonya) Lott of Cabot, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Jacob and Jordon Lott, Jaime (Wayne) Duncan; one great-grandchild, Cole Duncan; sister, Kathy Swank of Florida; brother, Mark Lott of California; sister, Kim Christman of Ohio; relatives and many friends.

Born on July 16, 1941, in Newark, OH, 'and was a graduate of Newark Catholic High School. Sgt. Lott joined the Air Force in 1960. He was with the 361 TEWS during the Vietnam war, where he flew 145 combat missions and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. He spent the majority of his military service as a flight engineer. After serving 28 years in the Air Force, Sgt. Lott retired at Little Rock Air Force Base. He then worked for Lockheed Martin for 12 years as a flight engineer instructor. Buddha was proud of his family, enjoyed traveling and the camaraderie of friends at the VFW and Moose Lodge.
