Richard Eldon Parkinson
UTICA: Richard Eldon Parkinson, 86, of Utica, OH, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Knox Community Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 AM September 8, 2012, at Kauber-Sammons Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Pataskala, OH, with burial in Pataskala Cemetery, Pastor Calvin Alexander officiated.
Mr. Parkinson was born on January 7, 1926 in Licking County, OH to the late Albert and Marie (Irwin) Parkinson. He was a life-long avid farmer in Licking and Knox Counties, member of the US Army during WWII, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was decorated with a Purple Heart.
Survived by three daughters and two sons, Pamela Parkinson of Pataskala, Daniel (Vicki) Parkinson of Granville, Annette Wilkin of Utica, Vance (Shirley) Parkinson of Utica, Fran (Bruce) Conard of Utica; brother, Harold Parkinson of Utica; half-sister, Jean Ann (David) Goss of Granville; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife, Charity Ann (Rhodeback) Parkinson; daughter, Janine Parkinson; brother, Nelson Parkinson; son-in-law, Roger Wilkin.
Family received friends on Friday, September 7, 2012 at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM.
