Ross M. Kirk

NEWARK: A funeral service for Ross M. Kirk, 93, of Newark, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Christian Life Center, with Pastor James Kirk officiating. Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Rd., Avon, Ohio 44011, where military honors will be conducted by the VFW Post 1079.

Ross, a retired driver for the Ford Motor Company, passed away January 31, 2013, at his daughters residence in Howard, Ohio. He was born April 22, 1919, in Middleton, TN, to the late Panker Calvin and Clory (Freshour) Kirk.

Ross was a WWII Navy Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Christian Life Center and former member of the UAW. He was a great help to several pastors that were building churches.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva (Price) Kirk; children, Harold (Linda) Kirk of Columbus, Travis (Faye) Kirk of Heath, Brenda (Frank) Neal of Howard, Robert (Delores) Kirk of Toledo and Cynthia (Leroy) Clutter of Toledo; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife of 50 years, Vannie (Sides) Kirk; five brothers; two sisters, and two grandsons.

Friends may call from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, one hour prior to the service at the church, 665 Linnville Rd. SE Heath, OH 43056.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christian Life Center Church.
