Ruby Eloise (Warthen) Larimore

Newark: A funeral service for Ruby Eloise (Warthen) Larimore, 93, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Eden Cemetery.

Mrs. Larimore, a homemaker, passed away May 28, 2012 at the Sterling House. She was born April 10, 1919 in Lawrence County, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Henry and Ivy Irene (Brumfield) Spence.

Mrs. Larimore lived in Newark and served the Lord most of her adult life. In the 1950s with a friend, Ethel Newton, they canvassed the community of Wilkins Corner for monies to place a lighted cross on the Pleasant View EUB Church steeple. This called attention to the church as a place of worship and a safe haven. The cross is still there today.

Eloise attended Pleasant View Church, Eastside Nazarene Church, Pilgrim Holiness Church, the Church of God and First Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her son, Douglas H. (Debra) Warthen of Newark; two daughters, Kathleen S. Thomas of Springfield, Ohio and Nancy L. (James) Banks of Vincent, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Angela, Bryan, Daniel, Jamie, James S. and Lisa; nine great-grandchildren, Matthew, Savannah, Haley, Harley, Sebastian, Megan, Taryn, Jonathan and Ashley; three great-great grandchildren, Caden, Madison and Jesse.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Earl L. Stevens, Homer Warthen and Marshall C. Larimore; step-children, William H. Warthen and Virginia J. (Warthen) Gantt; brother, Paul Spence and sister, Mildred Wilson.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6-8 PM at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark, OH.
