Russell L. Davis

UTICA: A funeral service for Russell L. Davis, 73 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Bruce Hissong and Frank Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.

Russell, died July 12, 2014 at the Selma Markowitz Center/LMH, Newark. He was born September 1, 1940, in Vanatta, Ohio to the late Charles P. and Frances G. (Davis) Davis.

Russell retired from Jervis B. Webb Co. in Mt. Vernon after 23 years. He was a member of North Side Church of Christ. He also was a proud member of the Utica Fire Department where he proudly served for 25 years, 6 of those years as Chief before retiring. His favorite past time after retiring was fishing on Knox Lake with his good buddy Darrell.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Bonnie (Bell) Davis of Utica; daughter, Beth and Tim Henry of Heath; sons, Scott Davis and Kim Hinger of Mt. Vernon, Doug Davis of Chillicothe; grandsons, Tyriss Davis of Bladensburg, Derek, Chance, Hunter and Carson Davis of Mt. Vernon, granddaughters, Jackie and Colin Pack of Mt. Vernon, Sadie Henry of Heath, great-grandson, Corbin Davis of Bladensburg; many friends and special pet Tuffy.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Clara Belle (Davis) Johnson.
