NEWARK: Funeral services for Stanley S. Miller, 68, of Newark, will be held at the REED-EGAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, Saturday, January 19, 2013 with Chaplain Mark Pierce celebrating. Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from 11am-1pm with a memorial service in his honor to follow.

Surrounded by his family, Stan passed away at The Chapel Grove Inn on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 29, 1944 to the late Paul and Carma (Hostetler) Miller.

Stan received his Bachelor's Degree in History from The Ohio State University in 1966 and was a member of Phi Kappa Tau and ROTC. Post graduation, Stan was stationed for 3 years in Germany as an officer in the Army. As an avid Buckeye fan he loved cheering on their athletic teams and was a faithful supporter of the Alumni Association. Stan's passions included golfing every chance he had, working around his house, and traveling with his family. He also adored his pets and was a longtime member of Moundbuilders Country Club. After 35 years of dedicated service, Stan retired from State Farm.

As a devoted family man, Stan cherished the time he spent with those closest to him. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, Mary (Lamont) Miller; his daughter and her husband, Gina and Matt Andreas of Dublin; his son and his partner Michael Miller and Dan Deckant of Columbus; his grandson, Ben Andreas; his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Jim Kew of Simsbury, Connecticut; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Jean Lamont of Cincinnati; and several nieces and nephews.
