Tillman Junior Shaw

HEATH: A funeral service for Tillman "Junior" Shaw, age 83, of Heath, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, at the Heath Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Tim Carr officiating. Burial will take place in Fairmount Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Shaw passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehab. Center. He was born December 8, 1928 in Newark, Ohio to the late Tillman and Lydia (Huff) Shaw.

A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Shaw faithfully served his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired on April 1, 1992 from the Rockwell Corp. after 40 years of service. He attended the Northside Baptist Church and was a former member of the First Christian Union Church. He was also a member of Rockwell Local #1037 UAW. Mr. Shaw enjoyed bowling and square dancing, activities which he and his wife participated in several times a week. He also enjoyed playing corn hole and cards.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wanita (Steed) Shaw, whom he married October 3, 1952; two sons, Eugene Shaw (Carol Brokaw) of Heath and Richard "Rick" (Sheri) Shaw of Gainesville, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Cary Shaw of Stowe, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson; three brothers, Samuel Shaw, John Shaw and Chuck Axline; and two sisters, Sarah Scharsch and Mary May.

Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at the funeral home, 1249 Hebron Road, Heath, as well as one hour prior to the service on Friday.
